TeleBurn is a service provided by Lehigh Valley Health Network that allows your emergency room physician to work with the Lehigh Valley Regional Burn Center specialists 24/7. TeleBurn allows you to receive the quality care, locally. It also helps caregivers at the Lehigh Valley Hospital’s Regional Burn Center prepare for your arrival, should you need to be transferred.

How does TeleBurn Work?
Using a digital camera, personal computer (PC) with broadband Internet connection and Web-based software, your emergency department staff can send images of your burn injuries to the Lehigh Valley Hospital burn physicians for review and assessment. The burn specialists will view the images, while discussing the case with your emergency room physician over the phone, expediting the delivery of specialty care to you, using predefined protocols.

Does TeleBurn Protect My Privacy?
TeleBurn assessments meet all applicable privacy and security regulations outlined by the Health Insurance Portability and Protection Act (HIPAA), and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act). Your privacy and security is of utmost importance and all measures have been taken to ensure the confidentiality of your information.

For questions or concerns about TeleBurn, please contact Todd Burda, RN BSN CEN PHRN, Director of the Emergency Department, (610) 383-8135.
