Cancer Care

Cancer Care

Cancer is a disease in which the body’s abnormal cells multiply at a higher than normal rate and spread to one or more parts of the body, sometimes causing the development of masses and tumors. Brandywine Hospital's cancer care facility combines cancer treatment technology with oncology specialists to deliver care and support to cancer patients and their families.

The Cancer Program at Brandywine Hospital diagnoses and surgically treats cancer patients with all histologies and from all primary sites. An interdisciplinary Cancer Committee consisting of pathologists, radiologists, thoracic, GI, GU, breast and general surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, along with allied health and continuum of care professionals, convenes quarterly to assure that the program meets national quality standards. Cancer Conferences are held monthly to discuss complex cases.

We offer screening programs such as 3-D tomography breast imaging and low-dose CT lung screening, which has earned an accreditation by the American College of Radiology as a Lung Screening Center at Brandywine Hospital. Click here for our Lung Cancer Screening brochure

Our patient navigator is with you every step of the way. If you are diagnosed with cancer throughout your treatment, our navigator can provide a continuum of care and services including support groups. Brandywine Hospital works with the American Cancer Society to provide a wide array of cooperative programs including Look Good Feel Better and free wig programs to those undergoing treatment.
